The community that builds Roblox.

Roblox is built by people, and the people who build it best know each other. We run a developer network of scripters, builders, artists and animators, put on jams, showcases and the Rival Ducks Awards, publish the guides nobody else writes down, and feed all of it with what our own tools see: which genres are rising, who is breaking out, what a launch actually needs. Free, and open to anyone who builds.

What we do here.

Talent & Community

A developer network — scripters, builders, artists — with game jams and placements.

  • A network of the people who ship on Roblox: scripters, builders, artists, animators and LiveOps hands, filed by what they make and what they have shipped, kept warm rather than collected.
  • Game jams with a theme, a deadline and players at the end: the winning entries go in front of a real audience through our advertising network, and the best of them into a publishing conversation.
  • Placements that work both ways: studios tell us what they need and we point them at people who can do it; people tell us what they build and we keep them in mind when the work exists.
  • The same intelligence our own studio runs on, shared with the network: which genres are rising, who is breaking out this week and what a launch actually needs, from Radar and Creator Discovery.

Events

Showcases, awards and community meetups.

  • Showcases where studios put unreleased work in front of players and publishers before launch day, with the numbers read on Radar afterwards so the feedback is more than applause.
  • The Rival Ducks Awards: the platform's year judged on the data we publish — retention, growth, reigns at #1 — rather than on who knows whom, so a two-person studio can win.
  • Meetups, online and in person, for the people who ship: no panels about the future of the metaverse, just builders comparing what worked.

Education

Guides, courses and a newsletter on building and growing on Roblox.

  • Guides on the parts nobody writes down: store presence, icon and thumbnail testing, LiveOps calendars, pricing and the first-session economy, written from what our own games and the data taught us.
  • Courses for developers moving from a hobby project to a game that runs: the loop, the economy, the launch and the week after, taught by people who operate live experiences.
  • A newsletter on what the data showed that week: the breakouts, the genres on the move, the launches that landed and why, straight from Radar.

What the community is playing.

The network reads the same Radar our studio does. Right now, on the platform:

How it works.

  1. 01

    Join

Write to us with what you make and a link to it: a place, a portfolio, a showcase, a channel. That is the whole process; there is no form and no fee.

  2. 02

    Build

Jams, guides, the newsletter and the reads from Radar and Creator Discovery are yours from the first week; showcases and meetups as they come round.

  3. 03

    Ship

When there is work — a placement, a jam winner going to players, a game ready for publishing — the network is where we look first.

Questions we get asked.

How do I join the Rival Ducks developer network?

Write to us with what you make and a link to it: a Roblox place, a portfolio, a showreel or a channel. Scripters, builders, artists, animators and LiveOps hands are all welcome; there is no form, no fee and no minimum audience.

Does the Roblox developer network cost anything?

No. The network, the jams, the showcases, the guides, the courses and the newsletter are free, funded by Rival Ducks in the same way Radar is.

What are the Rival Ducks Awards?

The platform's year, judged on the data we publish: retention, growth, reigns at #1 and the launches that landed, read on Radar rather than voted on by a panel. A two-person studio with the numbers can win it.

How do Rival Ducks game jams work?

A theme, a deadline and players at the end. The winning entries go in front of a real audience through our advertising network, their numbers are read on Radar, and the best of them start a publishing conversation.

Is Rival Ducks hiring Roblox developers?

We bring people in through the network first: for our own studio, for the games we publish and back, and for placements at studios that ask us. Tell us what you build and we keep you in mind when the work exists.

What do the guides and courses cover?

The parts of shipping a Roblox game that nobody writes down: store presence, icons and thumbnails, LiveOps calendars, pricing, the first-session economy, the launch and the week after, from what our own games and the data taught us.

Work with us.

Scripter, builder, artist or studio: tell us what you make and we will keep you in the loop.
