Abandoned village (Showcase)

This village was once a quiet place, tucked between rolling hills and winding dirt roads. Neighbors knew each other by name. Mornings smelled of fresh bread, and evenings were filled with soft laughter drifting from open windows. Life moved slowly here—simple, steady, and warm. Then, little by little, things began to change. The well at the center of the village started to dry, though no one could explain why. Crops stopped growing as they should. Travelers passing through spoke in hushed tones about strange occurrences in nearby areas, but no one stayed long enough to say more. One by one, families decided to leave. Some packed their belongings carefully, promising to return. Others left in a hurry, doors left open, meals still on tables. A few refused to go at all… but eventually, even they were gone. Now, the village stands still. Wooden homes creak with the wind.
