The village now sits between two contact points of Operation Alpine Sword, the codename for the Allied invasion of the Republic of Austrum. The Republic's frontline bastion of defense, Outpost Ludwig, houses a large garrison of military and regional government personnel poised at the ready to defend the small border town of Tannberg to repel the Allied invasion.
