You and one other player are the entire team. There is no solo mode, no catching up later, no playing at your own pace. Everything in In Sync is built for two people who have to be present, communicating, and paying attention at the same time. The core of the game is information asymmetry. You can see things your partner cannot, and they can see things you cannot. Neither screen shows the full picture. To make any progress, you have to describe what is in front of you accurately enough for your partner to act on it, and trust that what they are telling you is accurate enough for you to do the same. The puzzles are not hard because the solutions are obscure. They are hard because translating what you are looking at into words, and then acting on someone else's description in real time, is harder than it sounds.
