The starspeeder has crash-landed into a pond of lava on the scalding planet Obsidia, the first planet in the Ancera system. This planet is small, but burning. Lava is common as the would-be rock that inhabits the planet. Since the planet's main composition is obsidian, hence the name, the rest of the planet remains mostly unmelted.
