The Apollo Theater is a famous venue located in Harlem, New York on West 125th Street. The theater served as home to many black artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Little Richard, James Brown, Jimi Hendrix, and The Jackson 5 as Amateur Night competitors, but on some occasions there have been white performers like Buddy Holly and The Crickets.
