About
It was 1965, and American intelligence had been aware that Viet Cong 1st Regiment were operating near Chu Lai, an american military base. More specifically, the regiment was operating in the area around Van Tuong, which sparked concerns among the Americans and led to the planning of Operation Starlite, the first major offensive to be conducted by the US Marines in the Vietnam War.
