[EU] Seat of the European Parliament

The city of Strasbourg, France, is the official seat of the European Parliament, though most work of the Parliament is generally performed from their additional chamber in Brussels, which was constructed so that the Parliament could be closer to the other significant bodies of the European Union. Regardless of that fact, the Parliament remains legally bound to Strasbourg, an issue that continues to remain a matter of contention.
