German captives from the Soviet front, numbering 57,000 officers and men were forced to march in humilation through the streets of Moscow on the way to prison camps. Soviet citizens yelled insults and waved Soviet flags as the invaders were marched to their rightful place. The Soviet soldiers who escorted them were armed with bayoneted rifles and were ready to strike!
