Vulcanorous Colony - Province Vulcanum

A small bastion of life amidst a world of chaos and instability. The province of Vulcanum is a highly fertile territory recently admitted into the Consortium. From the new settlement, scientists have been discovering many new things about the history of the planet. The planet is now almost entirely a barren wasteland due to an ancient cataclysm, the nature of which is not certain. What is certain, however, is the danger of the adjacent territories teeming with recently active volcano fields. This is a calculated risk, though, since it is projected that the fields will remain dormant for another two thousand years or more. With that time, the Consortium plans to use these massive areas of molten rock to supply the armies. The military presence on Vulcanorous is heavy, because of the pressure from looters and pirates seeking riches off of the ground operations. A forward operating base is present in the Vulcanum province.
