The Battle of Valcour Island

Welcome to the second game in MrTheDisney's Historic Battles series, the Battle of Valcour Island! In October 1776, the Americans tried to fight off the British near Valcour Island. Several of the American ships sank in battle. The British had won this battle. In 1934, the wreck of the USS Royal Savage was raised. A year later, in 1935, USS Philadelphia was raised, and she was donated to the Smithsonian. In 1997, USS Spitfire has been discovered, and there had been plans to raise the Spitfire.
