"State troopers engage heavily armed male"

State troopers of the California Highway Patrol engage a heavily armed male after responding to a shots fired call in the Echo Park, Los Angeles area, during the gun fight that ensued one state trooper was shot, who was transported to the area hospital, his status is currently unknown.
