It snows in hell

My entry for the vignette contest. For almost two years, the Brazilian Expeditionary Force fought the Italian campaign under the command of Marshal Mascarenhas de Morais. Some 25000 men and women left the warm tropical country to fight a war that they did not start. Fighting the mighty german army in temperatures they had never even dreamt of, they pulled off amazing victories against an army that underestimated the valor of patriotism. This is but a small memorial in honor of those who did not make it back. No words can truly describe the bravery of these heroes. Thou shall see thine son shan`t flee from battle - Brazilian national anthem.
