"Officer Down! 10-99!"

As he lay on the stretcher, his wife crying holding his hand. He thinks. Thoughts shoot around his mind "Why god, why me", "I've done nothing to deserve this". Now he is facing with his biggest fear. Not coming home. He said, "I didn't want to hurt the kid, I just want to go home at the end of they day". The heat of the sun, the sound of cries from the street. The sound of his fellow officer telling him to hang on. He turns to his wife and mutters "Tell the kids I love them and- I lo- v- love you.", his wife smiles. A few days later in a Chruch, his family is crying, a Chaplin is saying a prayer. A group of officers is carrying a casket with a flag draped over it. Hundreds of officers, firefighters, and paramedics stand to salute him as his casket rolls by. He gave his life protecting his fellow man. But yet he was hated and one day he was killed because of that hate. Next day the news lines say "Ambushed" or "Shot because of uniform". He did nothing to deserve it. All
