Welcome to the Tyne and Wear Metro, running fast and frequent services in Sunderland, The Coast and Newcastle. You can join it to help us run a safer system. New ticket machines are being installed at stations every week from February through to July. The new machines pave the way for ‘smart’ ticket travel – but right away offer note and credit/debit card payment. You can also get weekly passes from them, without needing to go to a Travelshop.
