New Campton is a metropolitan area in the north-eastern region of the United States, formerly America’s 4th largest city on the eastern seaboard, with an industrial (specifically the steel industry) focus. During the 1970s the city found itself with a depleted economic situation due to the surge of industries to other cities and nations. Many of the former steel plants and corporations abandoned their efforts in the city leaving thousands unemployed. During the 1990s, the city saw a surge in violent crime, consistently ranked in the top 10 most violent cities in the United States.
