WWII Battle of the Ludendorff Bridge

Karl Timmerman and his men clear the town quickly, using their newly issued Pershing Tanks. Timmerman notices that the Ludendorff Bridge is still standing, and quickly calls it in. The U.S. High Command orders the men to take the bridge. The brave G.I.s sat off, but the bridge was rigged with explosives, a charge made the bridge impossible to drive across, so they went on foot. The Germans quickly surrendered, and the victory shortened the war indefinitely by at least five months.
