About & history
Project Valleilijn also nicknamed 'De Kippenlijn' was a reconstruction of now so populated local line in the middle of The Netherlands that connect Amersfoort, Barneveld and Ede closer together. The line was constructed in 1902 and closed between 1937 and 1944. The line's purpose at first was connecting Nijkerk, Voorthuizen, Barneveld and Ede closer together. After few years the province decided to reopen the line in 1951 with the removal of the Nijkerk extension instead branching off towards Amersfoort. This line was originally ran by train operator Connexxion, until 2024 where it switch to Keolis and switched under RRReis, the new local branding for the public transport in the area. Till this day it's still in operation and features one of the rarest trains within The Netherlands, the Protos. Project with konakonating
