Crandale is a city in East Central Washington, Maine, United States and has a total population of 28,430. The city is nicknamed Cranberry Paradise due to it's booming Cranberry Industry. History: Crandale was settled in 1868 by Croatian, Serbian, and German immigrants and was incorporated as a town in 1870, and as a city in 1885. Crandale has been greatly influenced by German architecture, with many buildings displaying German Step Gables on it's roofs. The city was named for the many Cranberry farms that the city has. Crandale has a narrow river and a covered bridge that was built in 1892, after it's original bridge that was built in 1869 collapsed. Geography: Crandale is located in the unorganized territory, East Central Washington, and is bordered by Lubec. Economy: Crandale mainly depends on it's Cranberry, Lumber, and fishing industries.
