C ypress Point Mall - Abandonment

C ypress Point Mall in 2016, a decade after it closed. Its sister mall, Eastern Land mall, is also abandoned. The vandalism has quickly escalated and the roof has suffered severe damage. In 2007 the Steve & Barry 's and the Burlington were gutted. The Steve & Barry 's was going to be turned into a warehouse and the Burlington a storage building for a local kitchen supplier. A plan was made to demolish the entire mall except for the anchor spaces. The plan ultimately fell through because funding could not be secured. The mall and the Steve & Barry 's were left abandoned. However, the Burlington was used and security cameras and alarms were installed inside. Surprisingly, this did actually deter criminals from breaking in. There was a fire in the food court in 2008. Since the mall's closure, plants and mold have taken over the once grand concourses. What's next for this destroyed mal?
