City of Glenwick, Maine

Glenwick, officially the City of Glenwick, is a city in Perham County, Maine, United States. Glenwick is situated on the coast and as of 2017 has a total population of 26,045. History: Glenwick was first settled in 1848 mainly by German immigrants. In 1855, a few hundred Dalmatian-Croatians and Serbians started to move into the area. A village was established in 1859 with a population of 600. Germans started up cranberry farming industries, while Croatians sprung up fisheries. Between 1859 and 1875, the population grew from 600 to 11,093, mainly by the Germans, Croats, and Serbs, but other Slavs came into the area. Glenwick became a town in 1879 and was incorporated as a city in 1890 with a population of 14,497. The 1890's saw a sprawling of sardine factories which brought more growth. Today, those factories and industries still exist and are important factors on the success of the city. The Ron(X)ald Rea(X)gan Memorial Bridge was built in 1942 and links both sides of the bay. It i
