Two Feet Between the Rails

Maine, 1937. A vast, rural wilderness that takes hours to get to even by automobiles. Amidst the spruce groves and lakes, the narrow gauge Kingsbury & Allagash Railway pulls isolated lumber villages and the regions larger towns together. Through the deep snow of winter, thick mud of the spring, summer heat, and the fall colors--the K&A is a vital connection to the outside world for hundreds of locals who depend on the railway for transporting goods, commuting to work, seeing family, and more.
