Arkhammar's Night of Judgement

The city of Arkhammar is an enormous sprawling gothic metropolis and is one of the most mysterious cities ever created, it's inhabitants are reclusive and the city completely rejects outsiders. It rose to prominence in what seemed like a blink of an eye. Founded by a group of mysterious monks the city went from humble beginnings to the largest city in the country. However this rise to prominence doesn't come free. Once a year on the same eve, everyone is ordered to barricade their doors and not to wander outside. Everyone but one, this one is chosen at random and is to be this years sacrifice. This year however either out of fear, rebellion, or both, the populace refuse to partake in this ritualistic event. However what gives Arkhammar it's power isn't from this Earth and the source of the cities wealth is more sinister than ever imaginable and demands it's payment for another year of prosperity.
