About & history
The Siege of Puebla happened one year after the Battle of Puebla. The Siege of Puebla began on March 16th of 1863 and ended on May 17th the same year. The siege lasted 62 days with the Conservatives and their allies fighting desperately to capture the fortifications. The battle raged for San Javier and the troops of the central army attacked Fort Gudalupita, in a 20 hour long, and confusing, melee the Conservatives then captured the fort on March 31st. For the remainder of the siege the Conservatives and French had to hold out against the oncoming Republicans and Americans. They could only hope the eastern army would commit itself and break the siege. Promising victory, or death they fought valiantly, defending until they emerged victorious on May 17th. Enlist today and fight for our cause!
