"Marines on the way!" Vignette made by EberhardModel. In World War II, the Marines played a central role in the Pacific War, along with the U.S. Army. The battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa saw fierce fighting between Marines and the Imperial Japanese Army (IJA). The island of Iwo Jima served as the next area of battle, which I've made on this vignette. The Japanese had learned from their defeats, so on the island they prepared many fortified positions including underground tunnels and bo(x)es.
