Campaign to Greenland

Tensions between the United States and several NATO countries—most notably the United Kingdom, Germany, Poland, and Denmark—escalated following disputes over Arctic militarization and sovereignty. Greenland, an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark, became the focal point after Denmark authorized expanded NATO deployments on the island, including new radar installations and multinational air detachments.
