During the 80s, the number of Lookout towers throughout the United States had long deteriorated since decades before, occupied by fewer and fewer Park Service rangers and volunteers by the year as technology replaced Osborne fire finders and binoculars. These plentiful lookouts were once tasked with spotting and preventing fires in isolated areas of vast flora, only accompanied with other lookouts up to 20 Miles apart from each other, whom communicated through radios but rarely saw face to face in a profession of extreme isolation – An analogy of modern online and long distance friendships, as this game aims to replicate.
