About
The Triassic was a hot and arid period, the earth dominated by the dying supercontinent of Pangea, and the Panthalassic and Palaeo- Tethys Oceans. Swamps and river beds did exist however, and they were in sharp contrast to the land. They were a great melting pot of all the great kingdoms of life, from giant amphibians, therapsids, phytosaurs, rauisuchids, giant insects, fish, and pterosaurs.
