The Siege of Baler took place in July of 1898 during the Philippine Revolution and lasted for nearly a year, it ended in June of 1899. 800 to 1000 Katipuneros fought hard to dwindle the spanish forces and take the Baler church, 50 Spanish soldiers were in the Siege of Baler before the start of the Philippine American War, the siege ended when Tenyente Martín Cerezo was informed that the Spanish had lost the war, and so the Baler Church was surrendered to the Filipinos.
