M.S. Poseidon, a luxurious cruise ship, embarked on a grand voyage from Tampa, Florida, with stops in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, and Trinidad and Tobago. By January 1, 2003, the ship had made successful stops in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Jamaica, and was en route to Puerto Rico. However, just after the jubilant countdown to the new year, disaster struck. A powerful seaquake unleashed a massive rogue wave, catching everyone off guard.
