SWTL: Geonosis

During the first major battle on Geonosis, the planet’s harsh desert landscape became the opening stage of a massive galactic conflict. Towering stone spires, constant dust storms, and vast underground droid factories made the world strategically important and extremely dangerous to fight on. The sudden arrival of the Grand Army of the Republic immediately changed the course of the battle. Clone soldiers deployed in huge numbers from military gunships, using coordinated ground and air assaults against large mechanical enemy forces. Although highly trained and organized, many of these soldiers were experiencing real combat for the first time, making Geonosis the place where the Republic’s new army first proved its strength while also marking the beginning of a long and costly war. #Geonosis #22 BBY #StarWars #CloneWars
