Spanish Ship Montañés

The Montañés, launched in 1794, represents the pinnacle of Spanish Naval Engineering in the 18th Century. Designed by Julián Martín Retamosa, using the lines of the San Ildefonso, a ship launched 9 years prior, but modifying it close to perfection. Its performance and career speak for themselves. The setting of the game is 1795, when the ship engaged a fleet of French ships of the line in the Mediterranean, taking defensive position in Sant Felíu de Guixols in Spain, fighting them off for over two hours, when the French warships, after recieving damage by the 1,100 shot fired sailed away.
