Rikuzen Province (陸前国, Rikuzen-no kuni) is an old province of Japan in the area of Miyagi Prefecture and Iwate Prefecture on the island of Honshū.[1] Along with Rikuchū and Mutsu Provinces, it was sometimes called Rikushū (陸州). The history of the province started in 1868 and ended in 1872.
