Buena Park Mall, (2018)

The Buena Park Mall in Ohio opened in 1971 with the following anchors: Sear, JCPenney, and Robinsons-May. After Robinsons-May was rebranded into Macy's in 2005, the anchor only lasted an estimated 3 months considering the area surrounding the BPM was at an extreme high crime rate. The following anchor, JCPenney, was closed in 2009 and has sat empty with extremely dangerous contents within the building. The only remaining anchor store, Sear s, was closed in 2013 due to an active lawsuit from Sear s Holdings against the mall owner group (Knafeh Mall Owners) for taking assets from the dying department store and selling them to other retailers within the mall. The Sear s was closed in 2013 after the mall owner group gave the Sear s department store a 50 day eviction notic The mall closed in 2014 after it was bought out by another mall group, which failed the mall drastically.
