Ross County is a fictional county in Texas, south of Corpus Christi, and north of Layola Beach. Ross County was established in 1888 from portions of Nueces County and Kleberg County. As of the 2010 Census, the population is 5,022. Ross County was first settled mainly by Croatian, Serbian, and others from what would be Ex-Yugoslavia starting in 1888, which many still remain. But success in cattle ranching and fisheries have brought the attention of others to come, further growing the county's population. Ross County's seat is Hansborough, a city with a population of around 861 The city was founded in 1888 and was incorporated in 1891. Every August 5, a feast is celebrated within the Croatian community for Our Lady of the Snows.
