empathy can destroy it can break the walls you built to hide behind it can turn comfort into confusion it can make you see every lie everyone ever told you it can make the air heavy with what you feel for others it can shatter pride and make guilt taste like fire it can undo friendships by forcing truths you never wanted to see it can make joy unbearable because you feel everyone else’s sadness at the same time it can turn silence into screaming it can make you question yourself until you forget who you were empathy can rip the world apart slowly gently violently it can make you cry for strangers and hate the ones you love it can twist laughter into sorrow and sorrow into chains it can leave you hollow and full at once it can destroy ignorance it can destroy distance it can destroy the safety of thinking you are alone it can burn the lies in your mind and leave only truth raw and trembling it can make a game a mirror a trap a revelation it can make you see too much and never un see it
