G Core melt = 64000 K freeze = 0 K during melt you get 3 minutes to get all shutdown buttons and activate it, melt is 5 minutes long. freeze cannot be shutdown and your only chance of surviving is the escape pods which auto open at freeze, in melt they only open after you press 4 shutdown buttons.
