[NEW] MOUNT ANDONG

Mount Andong is a shield mountain located in Magelang County, Central Java Province, Indonesia. The mountain has an altitude of 1,726 meters above sea level and is known as a popular climbing destination, especially for beginner climbers because of its relatively short path and steady climb. Mount Andong is located on the border between the towns of Ngaprabak and Grabag, specifically around Girirejo Village, Tlogorejo Village, and Ngapong Village. The distance from the center of Magelang Town to the nearest climbing camp (Desa Girirejo) is about 53 km with a journey time of about 1.5 hours using a motor vehicle. Mount Andong offers spectacular views of other mountains in Central Java, including Mount Merapi, Mount Gray, Mount Telomoyo, and Mount Ungaran. Sunrise from the top of Andong is one of the main attractions. Morning conditions are often shrouded in fog, providing a magical and cooling atmosphere.
