Laika, may you rest in peace.

On November 3, 1957, a R-7 Rocket launched to Low Earth orbit from Baikonur, Kazachstan, carrying Sputnik-2 inside there was capsule a dog named Laika, during the launch there was a malfunction with the temperature control systems, the system completely shut off, leaving Laika with the extreme temperatures of outer space. Laika died 7 hours after the launch due to overheating. Sputnik-2 remained in orbit for another 162 days before re-entering the Earths atmosphere. Laika may be dead but her memory lives on, humanity learned a lot from Laika, without the knowledge gained from her mission, who knows where we would be now.
