The Sky View Tower 1968

The Sky View Tower was a 494ft tall skyscraper with its restaurant The Sky View that opened and closed on May 17, 1968. Although extremely ritzy and coveted, the tower saw a rushed construction, being opened five months ahead of schedule with poor operational standards. Though these flaws could've lead to a total collapse and the deaths of all guests during its opening day, such a disaster was entirely prevented by Iris Campbell warning patrons of the impending danger. The tower was closed for inspection and renovations, but never reopened before being demolished.
