📍 Pyla, Cyprus, 1955. In the 1950s, Cyprus saw villages where both Greek and Turkish Cypriots lived together. Pyla was one of these, with churches and mosques standing within walking distance. Both communities shared markets, fields and coffeehouses with eachother, while flags flew as symbols of heritage, pride and identity, not division. Though tensions were rapidly rising elsewhere on the island, many villagers, particularly in Pyla, held onto their friendships and bonds — exchanging greetings, trading goods, and helping one another in quiet defiance of growing separation. This was the last period when coexistence still truly and widely lived in practice. This game is inspired by that shared past. It aims to bring Greek and Turkish Cypriots—and everyone else—into a peaceful space to share stories, enjoy music, hang out, and talk together. It reflects on coexistence before division without promoting any political agenda, and is dedicated to communities once united in daily life.
