About & history
Eli swung his pick deep in Blackridge Mine, chasing iron. The deeper they went, the stranger things got—whispers in tunnels, shadows that moved. One day, he and young Jacob broke into a hidden cavern lined with black crystal. It pulsed. Then the floor gave way. Eli woke alone, leg injured, voices echoing: "Greed brought you." He found Jacob unconscious, and the mine—alive, shifting—trapped them. Faces of lost miners stared from crystal walls, mouths open in silent screams. Above, Gus searched, but never returned. Starving, Eli dragged Jacob toward a breeze—daylight. They clawed out just before the mine collapsed behind them. The mine closed. Rumors spread. Some said the mountain was cursed, alive, hungry. Eli never went back. But some nights, the ground trembled, and whispers rose from the deep: "You escaped. Others won’t."
