Pine Harbor, Washington

Pine Harbor is a city in Pine County, Washington, United States. The population was 9,930 as of the 1920 census. It is the county seat and the only incorporated city in the county. Pine Harbor is well known for it's fishing industries, which is mainly set on salmon and crab. History: Early Days - Pine Harbor was first settled in 1875 by an influx of Scandinavians and Southern Slavs. The city was incorporated in 1879. It was named for the Pine Trees that surrounded the area. Croatians and Norwegians worked together to start up a fishing industry. Lumber companies also began to bloom and strive. 20th Century - In the early 1900's vineyards also began to sprang up which also attracted others to settle into the area.
