Deir ez-Zor Offensive

The CJTF are conducting offensive action against IS, in the Deir ez-Zor province of Eastern Syria. IS inhabits the area to smuggle oil from the fields by oil tankers and smuggling it out of Syria. No civilians occupy the district due to enemy presence. Deir ez-Zor is one of the most strategic areas in the country and there is a great deal of focus there from Iran and Russia as well.
