About & history
(Fictional Mall & Town) The mall was built in 1973 on the northern edge of the small town of Eastville, Texas, and officially opened on December 3, 1973. For many years, it served as a central shopping and social hub for the local community. The first anchor store to close was Sears in 1999, marking the beginning of the mall’s decline. In the early 2000s, several major and popular tenants shut down, including McDonald’s, Burger King, and The Gap. The mall remained partially open until March 25, 2007. The following day, it closed permanently, bringing an end to more than three decades of operation.
