Pristine Panem | The Quarry

The arena for the 17th and 18th Annual Hunger Games was set within an abandoned diamond quarry deep in District One. Towering coniferous trees had reclaimed the upper ridges, their dense canopy offering refuge to tributes. The terrain itself was a mix of steep rock faces and gravel. The Stock Pile was located in the heart of the main quarry pit. Scattered along the lower levels were abandoned shacks—fragile, splintering structures that offered brief shelter. To the right of the stockpile, two large tunnel entrances cut into the quarry walls. These narrow passages led to a second pit, long since overtaken by nature.
