Pine Ridge Junction

Pine Ridge Junction is a dramatic diamond crossing set deep in the pine‑covered hills, where two busy mainlines intersect at grade. The landscape is rugged and scenic, with tall evergreens lining the tracks and a creek winding nearby. It’s a favorite railfan spot because of its reputation as a foreign power hotspot. Trains passing through often feature locomotives from other railroads, making every meet unpredictable. A CSX tanker extra like X955 WB might appear with BNSF pumpkins, Union Pacific yellow, or even Canadian National leaders. Detector chatter echoes through the valley, horns reverberate off the ridges, and dispatchers face the challenge of slotting extras across the diamond without delay. Pine Ridge Junction is a signature location where surprises are guaranteed.
