Material is a resource you will use throughout your playthrough and you can collect the material from rocks/trees/water by clicking on them the game has a FUEL SYSTEM for spacecraft you can get fuel/oil/methane from pumpjacks and gas stations or certain water sources and you can fuel ships by going in first person and looking at the pilot seat Survive, Expand, Colonize.
