B&O Crossroads

B&O Crossroads is a bustling diamond where two historic mainlines intersect, creating one of the most dynamic train watching and dispatching points on the network. The junction carries the legacy of the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad, with classic signals and old brick structures still standing as reminders of its past. Modern CSX traffic dominates today, with intermodals, manifests, and tanker extras like X955 WB roaring through. The crossroads is especially exciting because foreign power often shows up — Union Pacific, BNSF, or Canadian National units leading long freights across the diamond. Detector chatter fills the air, horns echo against the old buildings, and dispatchers face the constant challenge of balancing priority trains with extras. B&O Crossroads is where history and heavy rail action meet.
